Why are glasses so expensive?
Answer – It’s a very good question. First of all, we need to realise that not all glasses are the same. There are lots of different types of lenses that would be fitted into the frames that do a lot of different jobs. As you would expect, within each different type there are varying degrees of quality and price difference. The frames can be really high quality which would obviously cost more or not so great quality and cost less.
It’s probably best to establish what you need from your glasses first to determine if it’s worth you spending more money on them.
Good questions to ask yourself and your optician would be:
Do I need to wear glasses all the time?
Do I need another pair for reading?
How important is my image? Do I want to wear stylish glasses?
What style and shape would suit my face and prescription?
Are there any areas in my life where I need to see for a specific reason? (specialist work or hobby situations.)
The way we see it is that you’re putting them on your face and while they need to give you the very best vision, they also need to complement your appearance, reflect your personality and be comfortable to wear.
